This policy covers the Shri Ram app for Android and snipv.com, run by SNIPV TECHNOLOGIES. Effective 31 October 2026.
What Ram is
Ram in this app is an AI. Replies, spoken answers and verse explanations are generated by language and speech models from the texts in the library. They are not scripture, and they can be wrong.
What we collect
Account. You can use the app as a guest, without giving us anything; we create an anonymous account so your chats have somewhere to live. If you sign in, we keep the mobile number or email you signed in with, and a display name if you give one.
Conversations. The questions you ask Ram and his replies, so you can come back to them.
Your voice. When you hold to speak, your voice is streamed to be transcribed into text. We do not store the recording; the transcript becomes part of the conversation.
Reading. Verses you save, how far you have read, and how many days in a row you have read.
Usage. How many minutes of voice you have used today and this week, so the daily and weekly voice limits can be applied.
App requests. Each request the app makes to our servers carries the app and Android version, your app and reading languages, your anonymous account id, an id for this launch of the app, and a random id for this install of it. The install id is not tied to your phone and changes if you reinstall the app. We use these to find and fix problems; they are never sent to anyone else.
Subscription. If you subscribe, Google Play takes the payment; we never see your card, UPI or bank details. Play gives us a purchase token, which we check with Google and keep with your account, along with the plan, its state (active, cancelled, expired), when it renews or ends, and whether it is a trial. We use it only to unlock the subscription for you, keep it current, and stop renewal if you delete your account.
Reports. If you report a reply, we keep the report, the reply and which account sent it, so it can be reviewed. If you delete your account, the report stays but no longer says who sent it.
Crash and error reports. If the app crashes or something fails on our side, it sends a report: what went wrong in the code, the app and Android version, the device model, the last steps taken in the app (names like "call started", never what was said) and your anonymous account id. Reports never contain your conversations, voice, phone number or email.
Camera. The self-view in a call is shown only on your phone. It is never recorded or sent anywhere.
We do not show ads, sell your data, or use it to track you across other apps.
Who processes it for us
These services handle data on our behalf, only to provide the app:
- Supabase: sign-in and account records.
- MSG91: sends the one-time code to your mobile number.
- OpenRouter and the model providers it routes to: generate Ram's replies from your messages.
- Sarvam AI: transcribes your voice.
- Cartesia: turns replies into speech. Audio of a sentence is cached for reuse and is not linked to you.
- Amazon Web Services (Mumbai) and Cloudflare: host our servers and cached audio.
- Google: restores your guest account after you reinstall the app (Block Store), if backup is on; Google Play takes subscription payments.
- Razorpay: takes subscription payments by UPI or card, where the app offers it instead of Google Play.
- Sentry: receives crash and error reports, kept for 30 days.
All data travels encrypted (HTTPS).
Deleting your account
In the app: Account → Advanced → Delete account. Or follow these steps without the app. Deleting your account deletes everything tied to it: your mobile number, email and name, your conversations with Ram, your saved verses, reading progress and voice usage. A running subscription is cancelled so it does not renew, and our record of it is deleted. Google Play and Razorpay keep their own payment records, as the law requires of them.
Reports you made about replies are kept so they can still be reviewed, but with your account removed from them, so they no longer identify you.
Children
The app is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Your rights and contact
You can ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing to abhishek@snipv.com. We reply within 30 days. If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
